State Houses:
A Roadside View

This book has come about due to the fondness I have for the original sturdy and iconic Kiwi state house. Built in the 1940s and 50s, many of them have stood the test of time, but too many have disappeared under the wrecker's ball.

With over 180 photographs, this book captures some of those that have been left behind, preserved or taken on a new lease of life.

Nestled amongst the photographs are anecdotes from people I met along the way, who shared their personal memories of growing up in a state house.
